LOVE ME LEAVE ME CONCEPT INFO

"WINTER is the season of the END and BEGINNING, of RENEWAL. The flowers die and are reborn in fruits. This contradiction makes LIFE GOES ON… like in the relationships: whenever there is an end, there is also something to be LEARNED so we can be RENEWED ". Cleo Nasser

The project started in February 2014 with a conversation between Cleo and some friends. She decided shewould make a song using several vocal pieces from Madonna hits. So a difficult job began, which would separate the acapellas in words or phrases. Soon after, it was time to create new lyrics that made sense. The biggest concern was that the music was supposed to be harmonious, something that did not sound ‘glued’ or artificial. A number of softwares capable of changing the notes, pitch, duration and rhythm was used to ensure that the vocal harmony was reached. Then, Cleo presented a first demo to some music producer who were also her friends (and would become collaborators later). They have reached an approval, but some adjustments were still necessary. The new acapella was ready in April and then the work on the instrumental part began. The lyrics are about a confusing relationship, in which people love each other, but also get abandoned frequently. They are pleased by being together, but at the same they time they do not want to be a couple anymore. The instrumental composition is smooth and also built in order to form a strong, deep melody. This is the contradiction of an emotional breakup: restarting constantly, non-stopping renewal. This concept (‘keep going, never give up’) was also used in Julio Skov’s video for the song, but using a different metaphor. Cleo contacted Julio in May, as well as Luke Savant and Dens54, her friends who were interested in the project and would make their own remix versions. Soon after that, Cleo had the idea of putting a male voice in one of the versions popped into Cleo’s mind. It was when she met the rapper New5ense and decided to add an element of his hit "I'm Gone". During this phase, Ale San Chez started his efforts on the promotional actions and the planning work, involving design, etc. Emerson Duarte was contacted by him and joined the project to produce the graphic arts, as well as the Press Relations Rodrigo Checchia.  So the team was completed and the LOVE ME, LEAVE ME dream became true.
